Xmen History Action Figures

I have a twelve inch Nightcrawler Action Figure in my Xmen Action Figures Collection. Nightcrawler’s real name is Kurt Wagner, and he made his Xmen debut in Ultimate X-Men #32. He has been associated with both the X-Men and Excalibur. Originally appearing in Marvel Comics, he was created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum.

A mutant, Nightcrawler has superhuman nimbleness, the power to teleport, invisibleness in thick shadows, and gluey hands and feet. His tangible mutations are three-fingered hands, blue fur, a prehensile tail, and yellow eyes. In Nightcrawler’s earliest comicbook appearings he’s showed as being a carefree prankster who is a fanatic of swashbuckling tales. Nightcrawler is a German Catholic and although this isn’t stressed as much in his earliest comicbook appearings, in subsequently depicting Nightcrawler is more outspoken about his religion.

nightcrawler-action-figureSince his origin, Nightcrawler has had a fixture in Marvel comicbooks and videogames. He’s shown in a few of the ninety’s X-Men animated serial installments. He was a steady on its replacement, X-Men: Evolution. Nightcrawler was a starring character in the movie X2, and was depicted by Alan Cumming and he’s a popular Xmen Action Figure. IGN placed Nightcrawler at number seven on their Top twenty-five X-Men list from the preceding 40 years. Marvel placed Nightcrawler number four on their top ten X-Men ever list.

Nightcrawlers story began when he was birthed in Bavaria to the blue mutant afterward called Mystique. Kurt Wagner was cast out at birth owed to his featuring pointed ears, blue skin, a long pointed tail and fangs. I knew a kid like that in school, we didn’t shun him. Nice fellow. At the time veiled as the Baroness Wagner, Mystique’s genuine identity was disclosed after she had Kurt, and the couple were chased by an furious group of people. Escaping to the falls, Mystique tossed the baby Kurt over the edge and ran. Kurt was salvaged by his birth-father, the being called Azaze. He was handed over into the guardianship of Margali Szardos who was a gypsy queen sorceress.

Margali brought infant Kurt to the little Bavarian circus where she was employed as a fortune teller which was a cover for her actions as a sorceress. Kurt was never officially adopted, but was brought up by all the circus folk, who didn’t have any biases against so-called freaks. Kurt was raised happily in the circus with his 2 dearest friends who were Margali’s biological kids Stefan & Jimaine. Stefan was afraid that his magic heritage might corrupt him one day. So, he made Kurt vow that if he ever murdered without cause for Kurt to contain him. During his young years Kurt demonstrated enormous raw agility, and promptly became the circus’s sensation as an acrobat & trapeze artist. Audiences assumed that he was just a average man dressed in a devil costume. Kurt worked intimately with Jimaine, and the couple before long became tangled in a loving relationship.

Years later, the Lone-Star State millionaire Amos Jardine, who had a big circus founded in Florida, found out of the Kurt’s circus and purchased it. Jardine meant to relocate the finest acts into his American circus. But, he insisted that Kurt be positioned in the freak show part of the circus, where he was held captive and doped so he’d stay complacent. In time, a youth would liberate Nightcrawler, who’d threaten Jardine to make him remain a more benevolent proprietor to his circus buddys.

Nightcrawler then escaped to Germany where he found out that Stefan had gone crazy and had savagely murdered numerous members of a forgotten race of half-human beings. Kurt discovered Stefan and battled him, desiring to cease his violent disorder, but in the struggle Kurt accidentally broke Stefan’s neck. The people of the close town of Winzeldorf found Kurt and beleive he was a demon who was accountable for the slayings. They trapped Kurt in the town and were almost going to obliterate him when they were entirely psionically frozen by Professor Charles Xavier. The Professor had come to enlist Kurt into his squad of mutant superheros called the X-Men. And, so there he stands twelve inches proud and tall as an Nightcrawler Action Figure. I swear he just winked at me.

Wolverine is a fictitious super hero who is in comicbooks issued by Marvel Comics. The super hero debuted in an Incredible Hulk Comicbook in the seventies. Wolverine was dreamt up by author Len Wein & Marvel art director John Romita, who planned the fictional character. But it was first drawn for publishing by Herb Trimpe. Wolverine subsequently connected with the X-Men’s in 1975. X-Men writer Chris Claremont had a important part in the character’s later evolution, also artist and writer John Byrne, who took a firm stand on having the super hero older than the other X-Men. Artist Frank Miller joined forces with Claremont and assisted in revising Wolverine with a four-part special series in the early eighties where Wolverine debuted his catchphrase, “I’m the best there is at what I do, but what I do isn’t very nice,”.

Born James Howlett and generally called Logan, Wolverine is a mutant, having wolf-like senses, heightened physical capacities, bone claws tjat draw in, and a mending factor that lets him to rapidly recoup from almost any combat injury, disease or toxin. This allows him to live past wolverine-action-figurea natural mortal lifespan. This mending power allowed the supersoldier program Weapon X to adhere the almost undestroyable alloy alloy adamantium to his skeletal system and claws without killing him. Wolverine was characteristic of the a lot of hard anti-authority anti-heroes that came out in American pop culture subsequent to the Vietnam War. Wolverines willingness to apply lethal force and his broody nature became stock features for comicbook anti-heroes by the close of the eighties. As a upshot, Wolverine became the obvious popular character for fans of the progressively popular X-Men franchise. Wolverine was featured in his own comic after the late eighties and has comprised a maincharacter in all the X-Men adaptations, including animated TV series, action figures, videogames, and the live-action X-Men motion picture series, in which he’s depicted by Hugh Jackman.

The story of Wolverine started in the late 1880’s as a child by the name of James Howlett was birthed. As a kid James was a delicate and unhealthy boy. His allergic reactions did not permit him to go out and play a lot. His dad had requested that a 12 year old young lady be brought around their estate. That young lady was called Rose and she was to be a champion and playfellow to James. She read to him and watched after him. Along with the groundsman’s boy, Dog, James and Rose were the lone kids upon the hill where the estate lived. They had become faithful friends and played a great deal but Dog slowly drifted away from them. Dog’s dad, the groundsman was called Thomas Logan, he embodied an boozer and mistreated his boy.

Over the succeeding couple of years Dog began to follow in his dad’s bad habits, turning harsh and unkind. James was given many obligations by his dad and grandad. After a huge fight, Dog killed James’s pet which led in the Logans getting thrown off the Howlett estate.

In a burst of madness and anger Thomas Logan and his boy got into the estate with arms. They then made Rose their hostage and required that she take them to the masters’ bedchamber. In that location the older Logan attempted to convince James’s mother, Elizabeth, to exit with them. Before they could depart John came into the room and found them together. In a craze of hatred and disapproval Thomas shot John as Jamees entered into the room. Witnessing his dad killed outraged him so much that it sparked his inactive mutant powers. His claws extended!

But, Wolverine isn’t immortal. If the wounds are bad enough, particularly if they lead to the expiration of critical organs, great quantities of blood, Logan can pass away. Wolverine, again attributable his mending factor, has a heightened immunity to disease, also as an elongated lifetime. In spite of Wolverine’s chronological age, he’s still as healthy as a man in his peak.
Because of his comprehensive education as a CIA operative, as a member of the Weapon X program, and a Samurai, he is a master of many forms of martial arts, vehicles and weapons. He’s also a trained computer expert and knows explosives and assassination methods.

I love my Marvel Xmen Action Figures. Here is a bit of the back story behind the Xmen Action Figure line…

The X-Men are a superhero group in the Marvel Comics world. They were dreamt upby legendary comicbook author Stan Lee and comicbook artist Jack Kirby. The Xmen appeared first in the appropriately titled, The X-Men number one in the early sixties. In a fog of growing sentiment against mutants, Professor Xavier produced a harbor at his New York residence to teach young mutants to exercise their powers for the welfare of humankind, and to establish mutants could be heroes. Xavier enrolled Iceman, Cyclops, Angel, Jean Grey and Beast calling them “X-Men” since they had special abilities attributable their having the “X-Gene”. The X Gene is a gene natural mortals lacked and affords Mutants their powers.

Early comicbooks brought in the Xmen’s arch foe, Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants, who’d persist in to battleing the X-Men for years throughout the Xmen’s history. The X-Men comics have been conformed into additional media, such as action figures, animated TV series, computer games, and a flourishing series of movies.

In the first animated series of X Men, there was just a five-man army. As the storyline developed, so did the Super Heros. The first Super Heros that constituted the cornerstone of X-Men force mutants were Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast and Jean Grey. The X Gene has afforded them all the powerful ability to battle the wicked Mutants, which are growing in number in the world.

The next generation force is made by Professor X, also called Professor Xavier at his personal Westchester mansion house in NY. He applies his scientific mind to prepare and teach the X-Men force to battle against the wicked mutants and absol

ve the society of the evil elements. Since the creation of the series in the sixties, Xmen has gone through a change in the characters. Cyclops is the lone continuous persona of the whole series that’s gone on unaltered from series after series. Wicked mutants in the first Xmen were Mastermind, Magneto, Quicksilver, the Toad, and Scarlet Witch.

Since the first sixties edition, the characters have shifted phenomenally to the desires of the fans. In the 1960’s

edition of X-Men there lived only one character add-on who was named Mimic/Calvin Rankin. But, he left the story real soon attributable the truth that his ability lost the luster and he wasn’t likable to the fans.

The 1969 edition of the X-Men was penned by Roy Thomas and the artwork was handled Neal Adams. There were 2 fresh characters were by the names of Lorna Dane (Polaris) & Havok/Alex Summers . The persona of Polaris was made by Arnold Drake & Jim Steranko. These debuts didn’t step-up in the sales chart, and there was a full finish to the chronicle’s output by Marvel at that time.

X-Men is an absorbing anime series that’s brought young and old great joy. The whole series has something stimulating occurring all the time. If you love the X-Men series characters and story, you will be glued from one series to next.

I have two sets of Xmen Action Figures, one recreates the classic lineup, and the other a more modern lineup. I often wonder who would win if the the two Xmen Action Figure teams were to rumble. Ah, the imagination runs wild.
